Death of the Reverend Ray Walder

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we are announcing the death of the Reverend Ray Walder, who passed away on 07 September 2015.

The funeral will take place at 3pm on Wednesday 16 September at the Lytham Park Crematorium, Regent Avenue, Lytham St Annes, FY8 4AB.

The family have requested there be no flowers and that donations be sent to Trinity Hospice, Low Moor Road, Bispham, Blackpool, FY2 0BG for their 'Hospice at Home' programme.

1. Funeral Arrangements – Kate Taylor

Kate Taylor’s funeral will take place on Friday 5 June 2015 at 12.30pm at Westgate Unitarian Chapel, Westgate, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, WF1 1XR.

This will be followed by a burial at Sugar Lane Cemetery at 2.00pm.  A funeral tea will then be held at Create, the café attached to the Library at Wakefield One. Unitarians travelling long distances will be able to get drinks in chapel before the service.

1. Please support the British Red Cross Appeal for Nepal

 

The Executive Committee of the General Assembly is issuing the following appeal to all congregations, districts, affiliated societies and individual Unitarians: 

We have been deeply moved by the recent earthquake in Nepal and feel that Unitarians throughout the UK will wish to do all they can to help those who are suffering as a result. You will recall that the 2014 General Assembly passed a Resolution asking the Executive Committee to issue this type of appeal.

1. Co-option of two members of the Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is seeking applications for two co-opted members to serve from May 2015 until the end of the Annual Meetings in April 2017.

Applicants should demonstrate 3 years active commitment to the Unitarian community, be in sympathy with the Objects of the General Assembly and be eligible to stand in accordance with legal requirements for charity trusteeship.
